Science & Technology: The topic on Monday 17th November will be “Inland Waterways – traditional & modern in Britain and Abroad” by Tony Bonson.
The topic on Monday 24th November will be “Microscopes: from Light to Electrons” by Chris Kemp.
The meetings for S&T are held in St Mary’s Hall on Monday mornings at 11.15am.
Earth Sciences Group: Kevin Horsburgh will be coming from the Proudman Oceanographic Laboratory in Liverpool, on Wednesday 10th December at 3.15 in New Life Church, Main Hall. Kevin’s field of interest is our ability to predict coastal flooding accurately, sea level rise, and the likely changes to these events as a result of climate change. The meeting will be open to all members. There will be a small charge in addition to your 50p to cover his expenses.

New Group for January 2009. Peter Boon intends to run a new group starting on Tuesday afternoon 13th January at 1.30pm at St James’s Church Hall. The course is entitled ‘Early History of Congleton & District’ and will run for 6 weeks. Anyone interested please put your names on the New Group Sheet on the notice board at St.John.
