Winter Term 2012
Details of Groups for the Winter Term can be found in our Group pages. Also the Winter Timetable (January version) which gives additional details of venues and times.
As the Winter Term for 2012 gets underway, Group Leaders for the following groups have updated their programmes:
Thursday Walking Group Wish You Were Here - Version 2
Theatre Group.
If you are not on email, information and booking forms for 2 new theatre visits will be available at St. Johns from Thursday 2nd February.
U3A Quiz The list is now on the St Johns notice board
The number of teams is strictly limited to 24, so if you wish to enter a team for your Group (or just for a group of U3A friends) then take note of this date because it is “first come first served”
New Groups
New Course: Photography and Digital Editing We are initially seeking the level of member interest in this proposed course, to be run in the next academic year beginning September 2012. If you would attend such a course, could you either:
1) Write your name and contact details on one of the forms in either St John or New Life Church.
2) Mail John Mulley at jmulley6[at]googlemail.com
By February 20th 2012.
Pilates Katherine Kirkman, who is a qualified Pilates teacher, has offered to run a Pilates group on a Monday or Wednesday morning. There would be an additional fee over the £1 weekly fee, which, depending on numbers, would probably be £2, making it £3 in total. There is a list on St John’s notice board to sign up if you are interested.

World Dance. This group will start on Thursday 16th February at 3:15 in the Scout Hut, Worrall Street.
Drum Circle Involving Middle Eastern and African drums; some will be provided, but if you have a drum that is gathering dust in the loft, why not bring it along to try.
This group will start on Monday 20th February at 3:15 in St John.

Science for the Non Scientific Keith Heron is keen to start a new group “ Science for the Unscientific”. this will be a “hands on” introduction to the mysteries of science. For more information ring Keith on Congleton 275499
Given sufficient interest the groups will run for trial periods of 6 - 8 weeks, starting in February 2012.

Geographical Association We have an invitation from the North Staffordshire Branch of the Geographical Association to attend their series of monthly lectures. These are held at the Leek Road site of the Staffordshire University in Stoke-On-Trent.
The aim of the Association is to share information with other geographers and they also organise field trips.
