French (Advanced) – Peter Axson
French for Francophiles, requiring some knowledge of French, either from school or from frequent visits to France. Geared to French interest, using a variety of methods including CDs with booklet transcriptions, exercises, magazines, etc. We will be reading plays by Marcel Patnol.

11.15 am to 12.45 pm, Thursdays.

French Discussion - Sandie Boynton
We aim to speak in French 'la plupart du temps' and decide what to do on a week to week basis.
Often a member will give a presentation on their chosen topic with questions and answers; perhaps we will listen to a CD, read out and study the text; we may select a topic to discuss in small groups or play a game.
Knowledge of French ranges between beginners to advanced, although we do expect members to keep up with what is going on and contribute as much as possible.
The group has been in existence for several years now and is friendly and sociable, with a regular attendance of 12 – 14

 9.30 to 11.00am, Fridays.

German Conversation - Fred Eardley and David Grundy
We have a range of German speakers, varying in fluency from a native   German to moderate speakers, who meet each week to practice their German skills, and to improve their ability in spoken German. We also read, translate and discuss various items of interest to members, and members are encouraged to conduct sessions on a subject of their choice.

3:15pm to 4:45pm, Thursdays.

Italian (Beginners) – Polly Howkins
A basic starter course. Some of those who joined the course last year will be moving on, others may wish to repeat.  All welcome.

1.30 to 3.00pm, Wednesdays.

Italian (Continuers/Improvers) – Polly Howkins
If you enjoyed the Beginners’ Italian last year and would like to follow it up with more practice, please come and join me. A little knowledge but not a lot is required.

3.15 to 4.45pm, Wednesdays.

Spanish for Beginners - Jo Sexton
Initially a 6-week 'survival' course of basic spoken Spanish, for those with minimal knowledge or none. Suitable for those having attended the previous 6-wk course, but Total Beginners may also benefit.

11.15 to 12.45pm, Tuesdays.

Spanish (Intermediate) – Brian Poole
If you have done Spanish for Beginners and now feel like moving on. The course will be based on the book “Hugo’s Spanish in Three Months”.

1.30 to 3.00pm, Wednesdays.

Spanish Further – Phyllis Philipson
Members all have some knowledge of Spanish and an interest in the many countries where Spanish is spoken. This year as a means of consolidating our knowledge we will use  "Improve Your Spanish" a teach yourself book by Juan Kattán-Ibarra. Special emphasis will be on listening to and speaking Spanish.  Members are encouraged to participate fully and perhaps take a class, thus bringing fresh ideas to the sessions.

11.15am to 12.45pm, Tuesdays.

Welsh (Beginners Continuation) - Menna  Winch
This group is run for non-Welsh speakers who want to learn to read, speak and understand some Welsh. The group has been running since January 2010, so existing members of the group have learnt many useful language patterns and have a good grounding in the essential differences between Welsh and other European languages. We are using the book "Cwrs Mynediad" (Entry level course for adult beginners) published by the Welsh Joint Education Committee. I will continue with this course in September. New joiners will require some basic knowledge of the language.

9.30 to 11.00am, Tuesdays.
