Walking Tuesday - Group 1 – Eric and Mary Davies Walks will be offered on alternate Tuesdays initially. They will be about 7 to 8 miles in length, with some climbing and at a moderate pace. The walks will also involve exploring interesting places and observing wildlife where possible. All walks will be within a radius of approx 30 miles (up to an hour’s driving) from Congleton, sharing cars and costs. Alternatively meet Eric & Mary at the start of the walk. Waterproof Jacket and over trousers are essential, as are reasonable walking boots/shoes. Walking Poles (or Pole) can be useful on uneven ground. Packed lunches and hot drinks are also required.
All newcomers, with or without experience, welcome.

Programme for Autumn Term 2011 (rev. July 2011)
Walking Tuesday - Group 2 - Tom Tyler and Rich Benson Group will meet every Tuesday with walks of around 10 miles and up to 2000ft of climbing. The walks will be at a steady pace (usually 4 to 4.5 hours for the 10miles) and will usually be within 1 hours drive of Congleton.
Departs Astbury Mere Country Park, 9.00am.
Walking Wed (1) – Brenda Coldham Walks average 5-7 miles, easy to moderate, in Cheshire, Staffordshire, Peak District areas, finishing with pub lunch. In summer, slightly longer walks taking a picnic.
9.15am Wednesdays, all year from West Heath car park.
Walking Wed (2) – Menna Winch Walks throughout the year usually 5 - 7 miles ending with a pub lunch. Longer walks with packed lunches in the summer. Some local, others further afield. Many easy walks, some moderate but rarely strenuous.
9.30am Wednesdays, all year, meeting at Leisure Centre Car Park
Walking Wed (3) - Jean and David Pickford Walks of about 7-8 miles, 3-4 hours duration, in the hilly parts of Cheshire, Staffordshire & the Peak District. Packed Lunch, Walking Boots & Waterproofs needed. We share petrol cost, usually £1-£3.
Meet at 9.15am at Thomas Street Car Park
Walking Wed (Morning) - Lynda Taylor and Felicity Whitelock Friendly half day walks of approx 2 hours walking + travelling time (3-5 miles, varied terrain).
9.30am Wednesdays from Astbury Mere Country Park, Sandy Lane
Walking Wed (Easy Walking) - Sue Malbon Walks last 1-1½hrs and are not strenuous! The group occasionally organises longer walks led by Gina Boswell.
Meet at West Heath car park (by hedge) at 10.20am, leaving at 10.30am. (All year, except mid-December to mid-January)
Walking Thursdays - John Chambers Intermediate standard walks of around 5 to 7 miles in varied terrain. Exercise and good company combined! Details sent out by email, weekly in advance, confirming start-point. Car-sharing, where required, by arrangement between members.

Walking Fri - Len Taylor Walks of 5 – 7 miles (moderate standard) in Cheshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire (20 mins to 1 hour drive; share car costs). Packed lunch, walking boots and waterproofs are needed. Suitable for your only walk of the week or for a second walk.
9.20am Fridays, Astbury Mere Country Park.
Walking with Dogs Walks take place on a weekly basis but on different days/ times ( including weekends and evenings) so that other commitments are not affected. Most are local walks( Cheshire/Staffordshire/Derbyshire), and we do share cars if possible. Usual distance is 4 - 7 miles but of course the dogs walk much further. We have now built up an impressive list of dog friendly pubs for an end of walk cup of coffee and bowl of chips! Members receive details by email, usually for a month in advance, confirming the starting point, day, distance and time. Regular/occasional walkers and dogs welcome.
