Welcome to our U3A website

If you are a new visitor to this site you are very welcome to browse the website to see the group activities, monthly speaker meetings and outings that are organised for our members. If you wish to join our branch of the U3A then click the "Join the U3A" link on the left of the screen and provide the details requested, our membership secretary will contact you in due course.

If you are a member and new to this site you will have been sent your membership number together with a password that you can use to log in to the members facilities within the website. We advise that once you have logged in on this first occasion you should change your password to something memorable to you.

Congleton U3A has several interest Groups which arrange UK Day Trips, Holidays (both UK and Overseas), Theatre Visits and visits to Clonter Opera from time to time for U3A Members. See details of current opportunities at the bottom of this page.

Registering in a group will enable the Group Leader to keep you informed by e-mail of future opportunities. If you do not have access to e-mail, the Group Leader will contact you by your preferred contact methods specified by you when you joined U3A.

All information and booking forms for the next twelve months are available on the notice boards in St. John's HQ and New Life Church.

All Travel & Entertainment events at the time of advertising are provisional and maybe subject to change or cancellation. The cost of each event will be based on the number of people attending and what is included. eg. entry fees etc..

8th April 2018Durham, Beamish and the Bowes Museum8th - 11th April
Three nights half board at the Derwent Manor Hotel Allensford. Full programme of visits including a full day at Beamish and at Durham. Also visiting the Bowes Museum and Nostell Priory. Luxury coach travel with local pick up points.
14th May 2018Krakow and Zakopane Mountains14th - 18th May
Hotel in centre of Krakow which includes dinner on the first and last night.
A half day city tour, half day tour of the Wieliczka Salt Mines and a full day visit to Auschwitz is included.
There is an optional full day tour to Zakopane Mountains and funicular to Gubalowka Mount
22nd May 2018South Coast & Isle of Wight22nd - 29th May 2018
Three nights half board in the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel and Spa. Visits to Winchester, Mottisfont (NT), the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, the Weald and Downland Living Museum, Tangmere Military Aviation Musuem and Beaulieu.
After crossing to the Isle of Wight for three nights half board at Bourne Hall Hotel, visits to Osborne House and other island attractions. Visiting Salisbury on return journey.
Luxury coach travel throughout with close-to-home pick up points. All entrance fees are included in the cost of the holiday except National Trust properties.
20th July 2018Annual London Weekend20th - 22nd July
Two nights bed and breakfast in the 5 star Grange Holborn Hotel with use of indoor swimming pool. Ten minutes walk from the British Museum and Oxford Street. Close to Covent Garden and Theatreland. Optional excursion to Petworth House (NT) on Saturday. Luxury coach travel with local pick up points.

24th November 2018Harry Potter Weekend24th - 25th November
An opportunity for 48 lucky people to visit the Warner Brothers Film Studio near London for a three hour behind-the-scenes walking tour of the actual studios used when making the Harry Potter films. Visit the “Forbidden Forest” and meet the Hippogriff and the Acromantula. See the authentic sets, costumes and props used.
Overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Express near London. Then make our way back north, making a stop at another interesting, festive venue yet to be decided.
